Ferry Service

There are 3 ferries on Arrow Lakes. The inland ferries operate under private contract with the BC Ministry of Transportation and there is no charge for their use. Generally speaking there are no wait times during non prime times. However, ferry line ups during summer months especially on long weekends are common.

The ferries are part of the heritage of Arrow Lakes. Remember when you are on the ferry you are on vacation!

Shelter Bay to Galena Bay Ferry

Go south on Highway 23 from Revelstoke. Thirty minutes later you will arrive at the Shelter Bay ferry terminal on Upper Arrow Lake.  The ferry is free and leaves on the hour from Shelter Bay (going) and on the half hour from Galena Bay (returning). During the summer, there are 2 ferries running which increases the frequency dramatically.  The Galena Bay ferry docks about 7 kilometers South of Galena Shores. Needles to Fauquier Ferry

This ferry runs on a shuttle basis between Needles and Fauquier. For information on the Needles cable ferry click here.

Arrow Park Ferry

Across the junction of Upper and Lower Arrow Lakes at Arrow Park, 22km south of Nakusp on Highway 6 is the Arrow Park ferry. For schedule information on the Arrow Park ferry click here. The Arrow Park ferry gets yo very close to Fortunes Landing but unfortunately there is currently no road access from this ferry to the property.
